Zhejiang is located in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta on the southeast coast of China. It borders Shanghai, the country’s largest city , on the northeast. Hangzhou is the provincial capital.

11 cities under the direct jurisdiction of Zhejiang provincial government, including Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jiaxing, Huzhou, Shaoxing, Jinhua, Quzhou, Zhoushan, Taizhou and Lishui, under which there are 39 counties, 23 cities and 26 districts at county level. The provincial capital city is Hangzhou. Ningbo has been officially granted an economic status on a par with that of a province.
