1.       Project Background

Deep processing of vegetable type product is the key content of the national “vegetable basket” project; Anhui is a major agricultural province of china, whose agricultural sideline products are of unique characteristics. The total yields of vegetable and various kinds of legume product holds a large proportion of those produced in china, which provides reliable raw material for the project.

The legume contains such components as soybean globulin, sub-oleic acid, lecithin and flax acid etc., which can soften vein muscle, expand the vein, promote blood flow as well as combat oxidation and reduce blood fat. The cooked legume foods are even easier for these components to be efficiently absorbed by intestines and stomach, which makes them recognized as popular health-friendly foods.

The slightly salted vegetable takes Chinese cabbage, radish, cucumber and ginger etc. as raw material, under condition of low temperature, with the application of fermentation (lactic acid fermentation, alcoholic fermentation) of microbe, the protein will be decomposed to certain degree within a short period and then special flavoring is to be added, and now a kind of processed vegetable that is edible directly, with unique color, fragrance and taste, will be produced. It is fresh, of high quality and nutritious.

With the improvement of living standard and the speed-up of living rhythm, people are demanding more and more health care foods and instant foods of high taste. Presently the cooked soybean and slightly salted vegetable have very extensive demand at the oversea market. Especially in developed Asian countries like Japan and Korea, they are favorable foods consumed by the majority of people and plenty of vegetable material like legume is imported from our country. In domestic market the similar health care foods are also sold very well and the potential market demand is really huge, especially in some large cities considerable amount of consumers have occurred.

2.       Construction Scope and Scale

2.1Scope and Scale

a)                       Cooked legume series foods
 A production line for braising and cooking legume with a daily output of 6-7 tons, the breed includes black bean, soybean, Kingshi bean, kidney bean with white flower, kidney bean with black flower, pea, 3-color bean etc.

Technical process: soaked into water --cooking the material added --sugar degree adjustment --soakage -seasoning sugar degree adjustment –soakage- cooling of semi-finished product in vacuum -packaging -sterilization out of warehouse (cold storage)

b)                      Slightly salted vegetable
 A production line for slightly salted vegetable with a daily output of 9-10 tons, the breed includes Chinese cabbage, radish, cucumber, ginger, eggplant etc.
The technical process: selection of raw material ---chipping -- chopping
sterilization washing with water slightly salted removal of water
adding of spice semi-finished product (cold storage) measurement packaging out of warehouse (cold storage)

c)                      A packaging line with a daily output of 20 tons (packaged in bags and tins);

d)                      A sterilizing line with a daily output of 20 tons;

e)                       A self-prepared deep well (with a water flow of 80m3/h) or water depository pool (20 m3);

f)                       Complex workshops and office building, roughly 7,000 m².

3. Estimated Investment and Financing Proposal

The total investment is RMB 48 million, among which RMB 40 million is for infrastructure construction and the other RMB 8 million is for floating capital. The construction will be implemented and completed within 2 years, for the first year, RMB 30 million will be input for infrastructure, and for the second year, RMB 10 million will be invested for equipment, the remaining RMB 8 million will act as floating capital.

4.Economic and Social Benefits Analysis

After the completion of the project, the annual average sales income will be RMB 80 million Yuan, value-added and additional tax will be RMB 4.20 million, the income tax will be RMB 4.50 million, and the after-tax profits will be RMB 9.20 million. The average investment profit ratio is 20% and the investment recovery period is 2.5 years.

Hefei FengLe Seeds Co., Ltd. is solely sponsored and established by the Seeds Company of Hefei City and it is also the first seeds company listed on the stock market within china. The registered capital of the company is 225 million Yuan, with a net capital of 616 million and 24 subsidiaries including wholly owned ones, those whose majority of stock is controlled by the FengLe Company, as well as those whose part of stock is controlled by the Company. In 1999 the company was awarded the honor of high-tech enterprise by the Science and Technology Department of Anhui Province, and in 2000 it was awarded the honor of national key enterprise for agricultural industrialization by 8 Ministries and Committees of china. Also in 2000 the quality control system of the company obtained the ISO9001 certificate.
