CICGF Promotion in Shanghai

The 5th China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF), sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, PRC and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, will be held from June 8 to 12 this year in the famous harbor city of Ningbo.

The CICGF Promotional Reception was recently held in Shanghai. Present at the reception were: commercial officials from more than 20 foreign consulate-generals, business representatives from China-European Chamber of Commerce and other foreign business offices in Shanghai, as well as from Carrefour, Auchan, DCM, Masai and Shanghai International Purchasing Center, etc.

Mr. Wang Renzhou, Director of Ningbo Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, who is also the standing Vice Secretary General of CICGF, briefed on the 5th CICGF and the city of Ningbo. He pointed out, the 5th CICGF will seek more international cooperation; bring to full play of its features as an internationalized, professional, market-oriented and standardized exhibition, consolidating the position of "No.1 consumer goods fair in China".

There are five points to note for the session:

1. The fair is larger in scale. There will be 3000 standard booths, increasing 800 by the last session. Over 1500 exhibitors will attend, compared with the last session's 1260. More than 20 provinces and municipalities will organize to attend. Some foreign exhibitors will also attend.

2. The exhibition areas are further optimized. Five exhibition sections will be set up with the exhibit categories, including: home textile and garments, electronics and home appliance, light industrial products, arts and crafts, foodstuff. The overseas exhibit section is specially arranged for the exhibiting foreign companies and international purchasing groups. The exhibition display will impress every visitor with unified and harmonious image.

3. More famous brands will be exhibiting. As a window for "Made-in-China" products to enter the world market, the fair has become an important platform for Chinese brands to go global. Many famous national brands, such as the Famous Export Brands, Famous Chinese Brands, and Well-known Chinese Trademarks will be exhibiting. Brand exhibit will turn up a beautiful view line at the fair. In this regard, the city of Ningbo, with the title of "China's Capital of Brands", "China's Capital of Stationery", "China's Capital of Molding", China's famous garment city, etc., will contribute more to the success of the fair.

4. More foreign clients will be attending. Ten measures have been taken to invite foreign buyers, and multiple channels used to promote the fair. Thousands of foreign buyers from nearly a hundred countries and regions have replied to attend the fair. It is expected that there will be a big increase in both buyer attendance and trade volume reached than the last session.

5. Cooperation efforts will be enhanced. With CICGF's successful accomplishments and the spreading of its fame, more and more foreign fair organizers have started to seek cooperation with it. A cooperation agreement was just reached between CICGF and China Internet (Information Center), the No.1 governmental website in China. Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd., Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bulgarian–Chinese Chamber for Economic Cooperation have decided to cooperate with CICGF for a period of 6 years.
