I’m very glad to meet you here in the beautiful and vigorous Lishui, Nanjing in this golden autumn and participate in this Healthy China Conference. Prosperity for all is impossible without health for all. The 2020 "Healthy China" Development Conference and the TCM Industry-Education Integration Development Conference cannot come at a better time after the successful completion of the Commendation Conference for National Response to COVID-19. This conference will gather many excellent advice and suggestions to promote the high-quality development of the Chinese health industry! I hereby represent the RCCK Entrepreneur Association to extend congratulations to this conference!

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, President Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized the strategic position and priority of the people’s health from the perspectives of national rejuvenation and the people’s well-being. Thus, an overall layout has been made based on the Healthy China strategy, stating clearly the policies and key tasks of the public health work in China. Facing the changes unseen in a century, China is entering the key period of building modern economic system and promoting the high-quality growth of economy, which calls for the health industry. Along with the transition of the global epidemic situation, the health industry is facing a great market in China. And we all face the following common challenges: how to implement the Healthy China strategy, how to satisfy people's yearning for a better life, how to grasp the opportunities and how to promote the high-quality growth of the healthy industry.

For a long time, with deep understanding of the new development concept and the Healthy China strategy, the RCCK Central Committee has been attaching the greatest importance to the development of health industry. Wan E’xiang, Chairperson of the RCCK Central Committee, has led research teams to analyze the deep-seated problems in implementing the Healthy China strategy for many times and has put forward a series of opinions and suggestions after continuous in-depth researches, which were highly affirmed by the leadership of the CPC Central Committee. The RCCK Entrepreneur Association, together with party enterprises in various fields, has also taken an active part in the practices for promoting the development of health and wellness industry and TCM health industry and jointly explored the way to promote the high-quality development of the health industry.

Over the past six years, the RCCK Entrepreneur Association has actively participated in many theme conferences organized by the RCCK Central Committee in various places. By giving full play to its advantages in industrial resources, gathering consensus of the health industries, and providing assistance for the development of local health industries in the aspects of publicity, funds and projects, the RCCK Entrepreneur Association has played an important role to promote the transformation and upgrading of local economy.

The development of health industry in Jiangsu Province started early and has a solid foundation because Jiangsu has unique advantages in climate, ecology and living resources. In recent years, Jiangsu Province has been taking the lead in promoting the development of the Healthy China strategy. Since the First Healthy China Development Conference was successfully held in 2018, under the full support and leadership of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and the Nanjing Municipal Government, Lishui District has made remarkable achievements in the development of health industry as the RCCK Central Health and Wellness Industry Practice Base and the Healthy Jiangsu Demonstration Area. I have accompanied the RCCK officials in Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Jiangsu Provincial Government on many occasions to investigate the development of Lishui’s health industry, and was deeply impressed by the Chinese development ideas concerning the development of TCM culture and industrial innovation. Traditional Chinese medicine has unique advantages in disease prevention and treatment. After years of exploration and practice, the modern TCM industry in China has been widely recognized at home and abroad, and the important functions of TCM in the prevention and control of COVID-19 was highly affirmed worldwide. This is to say, the modern TCM industry is embracing a new round of development opportunities.

President Xi Jinping stressed that we should follow the law of TCM development, inherit the essence, break new grounds and accelerate the modernization and industrialization of TCM. This TCM Industry-Education Integration Development Conference is held with the theme of promoting the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, which advocates to take the TCM medical education system and the TCM industry-education integration as important means to promote the development of health industry. It will certainly provide new ideas for leading the high-quality development of Chinese medicine industry.
